How do you work out how much Choline is different Choline supplements
Taking Choline (C5H14NO, Mol. Weight: 104) as a reference...
- CDP-Choline (Citicoline, Mol. Weight: 488.33) -> 21% Choline - i.e. multiply by 0.21 to get amount of Choline
- CDP-Choline-Na (Mol. Weight: 510.31) -> 20% Choline - i.e. multiply by 0.20 to get amount of Choline
- Alpha GPC (L-alpha-Glycerylphosphoryl choline, Mol. Weight: 257) = 104/257 = 40% Choline - i.e. multiply by 0.40 to get amount of Choline
- Choline Dihydrogen Citrate (Mol. Weight: 295.29) -> 35% Choline - i.e. multiply by 0.35 to get amount of Choline
- Phosphatidylcholine (Mol. Weight: 760.09) -> 14% Choline - i.e. multiply by 0.14 to get amount of Choline.
- You can use the same method for other choline compounds if you know the molecular weight (104/molecular weight x 100).
Serving Suggestion...
Use a scoop measure to make a mixture where 1 scoop = your serving size (say 250mg)... in water or Juice, to avoid having to measure with scales each time...
All the Supplements are different weights for a particular volume, so, unfortunately, there is no 'standard' 250mg scoop measure you can buy. Also, 250mg is a fairly small amount, typically too small for a scoop you can buy in the supermarket, but if you mix it with some dry powder like Benefiber or Psyllium powder, protein powder or something like that you can make a mixture where 1 scoop = 250mg.
For 100 servings where 1 scoop = 250mg serving
- Pick a small scoop (whatever you have e.g. teaspoon scoop) and see how many scoops 25g comes to. (lets say 25g was 30 of your scoops)
- Add 70 scoops of the other powder - then you have a mixture of 100 scoops where you know 1 scoop has 250mg in it.
- Consult your physician before use if taking other medication, or if suffering from acute severe illnesses or kidney damage, or if you have type II diabetes or a major depressive disorder.
No claim of therapeutic action or prophylactic action is implied, nor is it sold to treat any disease or illness or cause any physiological action.
